Cyber Risk & Security Platform

Charity

Protect your mission, your people, your supporters and the communities that depend on you.

Charities exist to create impact, not to run security operations. But delivering that mission increasingly depends on email, cloud services, fundraising platforms, websites, finance systems, donor databases, case-management tools and the devices used by employees and volunteers.

If those systems are disrupted, the impact can reach far beyond IT. Fundraising can stop, teams can lose access to information, services can be interrupted and sensitive data about donors, employees, volunteers or beneficiaries can be put at risk.

ConnectProtect brings cyber risk visibility and managed security together, helping charities strengthen protection without expecting them to build an enterprise-sized security team.

Your charity's digital environment may be bigger than you think

Cyber risk can exist across your entire organisation, including:

Know how you're exposed

Being a charity does not make you invisible to cyber criminals

Charities hold things attackers value: money, personal information, trusted email accounts and access to digital systems. The Charity Commission’s 2026 sector risk assessment says 30% of charities reported experiencing a cyber attack in the previous year, with phishing the most common and disruptive type, alongside a notable increase in ransomware.

The risk is real, but security can still be proportionate

A charity should not have to choose between doing nothing and buying a complex enterprise security stack. The right approach is to understand the risks that matter, put sensible protection around important systems and add specialist support where internal resources are limited.

Protect the trust behind your mission

Supporters, beneficiaries, funders and partners trust charities with money, information and relationships. Cyber security helps protect that trust by reducing avoidable exposure and improving the organisation’s ability to identify and respond to suspicious activity.

Choose the right product

Know what is visible from the internet

Websites, donation pages, domains, cloud services and remote-access systems can create anexternal footprint that changes over time – particularly when campaigns, agencies andsuppliers are involved.

ConnectProtect® Horizon

Horizon provides Managed External Attack Surface Management (EASM), giving your
organisation an outside-in view of what is visible from the internet.

  • Identify externally visible assets
  • Track changes to the external attack surface
  • Surface potential security issues
  • Prioritise findings for investigation
  • Understand what an external observer can see

Your charity depends on organisations outside your walls

Charities can rely heavily on third parties for fundraising, CRM, cloud hosting, payments, communications, case management, IT support and service delivery. Smaller organisations in particular may outsource much of their technology environment. That can be efficient, but it also means cyber risk does not stop at your own organisation. A supplier incident can still affect your information, your supporters or your ability to operate.

ConnectProtect® Realm

Realm provides continuous third-party cyber risk monitoring for selected suppliers and third parties, helping maintain visibility between formal reviews.

  • Monitor selected critical suppliers
  • Identify changes in external security posture
  • Prioritise third parties that need attention
  • Support supplier and procurement conversations
  • Add ongoing visibility between periodic assessments
  • Focus monitoring on dependencies that matter most

Protect the devices your people use to deliver the mission

Employees, volunteers and trustees may work from offices, homes, community locations andwhile travelling. Their endpoints can provide access to email, finance, donor information andimportant organisational systems.

ConnectProtect® Core

Core is a combination of security technology and people watching for threats – without your charity having to build its own security operations centre.

Core is managed endpoint security with:

  • Antivirus
  • EDR
  • anti-ransomware protection
  • 24x7x365 human SOC monitoring

Identify vulnerabilities, prioritise them and track progress.

Add security expertise without adding a security department

Many charities have a small IT team, an outsourced IT provider or no dedicated security specialist at all. That does not make security less important - it makes access to the right expertise more valuable.

ConnectProtect® Unity

Unity is Managed Detection and Response (MDR) that connects supported security
technologies and adds 24x7x365 managed monitoring, investigation and response.

Where supported, Unity can work with technology already in place rather than forcing unnecessary replacement.
Your people focus on the cause. Security specialists help watch the signals.

Four connected questions for charity cyber security

Good cyber security does not have to mean dozens of disconnected tools. ConnectProtect brings five complementary capabilities together around questions trustees, leaders and IT teams should be able to answer.

Made for any size

Make cyber security proportionate to your charity.

Every pound matters in the charity sector. Cyber security therefore needs to be practical, understandable and proportionate to the organisation’s size, activities and risk – not technology for technology’s sake.

For smaller charities

The goal may be straightforward: protect important devices, know somebody is watching for suspicious activity, understand obvious external exposure and get clearer guidance on what needs fixing. Managed security can provide access to capability that would be unrealistic to hire internally.

For larger charities

More complex charities may have multiple sites, large supporter databases, international operations, extensive supplier ecosystems and internal technology teams. ConnectProtect can. complement those teams with managed visibility and monitoring across selected areas

For trustees and leaders

Cyber risk is a governance issue as well as a technical one. Charity Commission guidance says trustees remain responsible for ensuring their charity is protected even where cyber security is delegated to an IT team or another provider. Its current risk-management guidance also expects trustees to regularly review and assess risks and plan how those risks will be managed.

Cyber resilience in the charity sector.

The Charity Commission says charities are at risk because they hold assets criminals value, including money and sensitive information, and use digital systems for online banking, fundraising and service delivery. Its guidance recommends that trustees understand cyber risks, take reasonable protective steps and prepare to respond properly to incidents.

The NCSC provides dedicated guidance for small organisations, including charities, as well as more detailed guidance for organisations with more complex technology environments. Free and low-cost guidance can provide an important foundation; managed services can add continuous visibility and human monitoring where a charity needs more support.

ConnectProtect does not replace trustee responsibilities, Charity Commission guidance, data-protection obligations, Cyber Essentials or an organisation’s own governance. Its services can support practical security capabilities around visibility, endpoint protection, monitoring, third-party risk and vulnerability management.
